Build
Left Window and Door Hinge
Steps 11.1-11.2
Retrieve your Left Door assembly from the previous kit. Fit the Left Window over the matching posts of the Left Door as shown, and secure it into place with three (3) DS06 screws.
Tighten these screws enough that the window part does not move, but not too much to damage the plastic. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Step 11.3
Fit the vertical bar of the Door Hinge to the matching recess inside the Left Door.
The ‘L’ marking on the Door Hinge should be facing you:
Steps 11.4-11.5
Place the Door Hinge Flange over the two matching posts of the Left Door, align the screw hole, and secure in place with one (1) DS02 screw.
The tighter this screw is, the harder it will be to open/close the door. Do not over-tighten it to where the hinge cannot rotate:
Thoughts
The outside of our first door is now complete! This hinge design reminds me of the doors on my James Bond Aston Martin DB5 build. I do like that the window part already has the chrome trim and vent handle pre-installed.
