“In this phase you will continue working on the engine, installing the timing cover and power steering pump of your Eleanor Mustang.

Engine Timing Cover

Step 77.1

Press the D-shaped pin of the Small Stopper into the matching hole at this location on the Timing Cover:

Fit the two posts the Timing Cover Bracket over the matching two posts inside the Timing Cover, as shown:

Secure this Bracket into place with two (2) DS02 screws.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Press the long D-shaped post of the Power Steering Pump down onto the matching pin of the Steering Pump Bracket, as shown:

Fit the pin and post of the Steering Pump Bracket assembly into these matching holes of the Timing Cover, as shown:

Secure the Steering Pump Bracket into place from the other side with one (1) PS05 screw:

Thoughts


It has been a long time since we have done anything with our Eleanor Mustang engine and it feels good to be back at it! We will add more to this Timing Cover assembly in the next kit, so keep it nearby.
