For those of us building this 1:8 scale Eleanor Mustang, we may have received solid disc brakes with our deliveries. These were supposed to be cross-drilled/slotted brake discs but this oversight was not corrected by Eaglemoss until much later in the build, and only to a few of the countries they sold to. Well, since Fanhome took over the build, they are giving us the chance to receive the corrected parts. Thanks to BAC over at Fanhome, he has provided this update:
I have an update on the brake discs for our USA/UK/DE customers.
First up, any new builders who have recently signed up for this stunning build will be sent the upgraded version automatically in the corresponding stages so there is no need to take any action or need to contact the service team.
For returning customers (those with partial builds):
If you have received this version of the brake disc previously:
You can request an upgraded version as seen here:
From the previous companies records we understand this was already offered to active builders (in the UK and Europe and was sent out on request) and anyone who signed up in 2022 does not need to request these as they had already been replaced in the assembly stages.
As we have a limited number of these can I ask you only request them if your truly need them, as once they are gone, they are gone as this is left over stock and no more will be produced as mentioned above it’s been replaced in the running order already.
For returning customers who are between issue 1 to 9 you can request via email for the upgraded version to be added to issue 10 (assembly stages 35 to 38) – please send the email request to the following address:
quoting this code CORRECTBRAKE. When your 10th issue is processed, these will be included in your parcel.
If your next due issue is between 11 to 27 you can request via email for the upgraded version to be added to issue 28 (assembly stages 107 to 110) – please send the email request to the following address:
quoting this code CORRECTBRAKE2. When your 28th issue is processed, these will be included in that parcel.
For builders who has reached issue 28 or beyond the process is different – please send an email to the following address:
with a request to send you the upgraded version of the brakes, you must include your sub number, name, telephone number, email address and FULL postal address. At the end of each month, we will arrange for them to be posted out in batches.
Please note that we can only expect these requests via email and not over the phone as this is being handled via a different team.
All the best,
I emailed Fanhome support about my own model and quickly received a response:
“Thank you for contacting Fanhome.
We are happy to confirm that we have added the Brake parts to your subscription and you will receive them at a later date.
If you have any other questions, we are here for you.
Have a great day,
